Do you crave more dynamic physical struggle and control in your scenes? Want to be able to literally sweep your play partner off their feet—and then hold them down while you apply rope or other restraints to them?

In this three-hour class, Jonathan will teach the basics of three fundamental martial-arts style takedowns and pins. You’ll move through safely hitting the ground, to utilizing
anatomy, leverage, and physics to unbalance your partner, to pinning them to the ground, in a way that transitions well to applying restraints such as rope or cuffs. This class will feature a short lecture and demonstration portion on the anatomy and physics of takedowns, but expect to spend the majority of the class getting plenty of hands on practice in a friendly, non- competitive environment.

Tops: Here is your chance to sharpen your take-down and physical control skills. Bottoms: learn how to safely receive falls and pins. Bring a partner with you, if possible, but if you don’t have a partner, we’ll help match people up.

Bring a short (5-15’) length of rope and a pair of handcuffs, and we’ll cover safely
and effectively applying them as part of our pins.

There is no prerequisite for this course, and it is appropriate for all genders and sexual orientations.

Students should be comfortable with getting up and down off the ground, repeatedly, for a three hour class, but the pace will not be aerobically intensive.

For safety and to ensure personal attention to each participant, class size will be limited to 20 people. Due to the small class size, early registration is highly recommended.
