LAST NIGHT IN POMPEII
A fundraiser at Rebar for Seaweed Artist Collective's 2014 Burning Man project, Mount Infinity!

FB event: https://www.facebook.com/events/522794797833568/

Join us as we travel back to join the revelers in Pompeii as they celebrate the approaching summer, or perhaps get in one last hurrah, because Mt Vesuvius has been rumbling and her wrath is great! We'll all be doing our best to celebrate and enjoy the occasion with good friends, great dancing and sexy upbeat house music. Because at some point in the night, this baby is gonna blow, and things in Pompeii will never be the same again (and yes, we have some surprises in store).

All proceeds from this event benefit Seaweed in our caldera and infinity pool inspired installation, Mount Infinity. Seaweed is formerly SeaCORE, who brought you Tendrillar Woods in 2012 and POSIWID in 2013. More info on the Seaweed facebook page.

VAGABOND SUPERSTAR

Vagabond Superstar [VS] is a DJ/Producer from Chicago, IL.

The son of a jazz musician and artist, [VS] was emersed in music from an early age, and started his own musical journey in grade school playing trumpet for the school band. Over the years [VS] would learn about traditional forms of music such as classical and jazz, as well as Hip Hop and Chicago House Music, but it was in Jr High when djing caught his attention. Crediting his initial draw to the art of DJing to hearing DJ Scratch [EPMD] cut up the break on the group's single "So Whatcha Sayin" during music class, he admits that once he heard that break he knew that he wanted to be a dj.

[VS] took his first dj gig in high school at a basement party and hasn't looked back since. He graduated from basement parties in high school to clubs in college, and it wouldn't be long before [VS] started doing bigger shows and opening for R&B and Hip Hop acts like Wu-Tang [NYC], Def Jam's "The Show" tour, Afrika Bambaataa, and soon after sharing stages with House Music heavyweights like Mark Farina, Giom, Lisa Shaw [and more].

Known for his out of the box style of play and music selection, [VS] has a knack for keeping his finger on the pulse of dancers and fans alike all while staying one step ahead of the curve. It's also his flair for keeping party goers [and peers] on their toes musically that earned him the loving label of being "a dj's dj'.

PRESSHA

An active member of the Burning Man community, Pressha’s exposure to the slower tempos and world music sounds of the festival has created in him a driving passion for sharing the beat-centric, glitch-hop sound that is sweeping the West Coast. This DJ’s talents are welcome at camp sound systems all over the playa and in 2009 was asked to play at numerous large sound camps and again in 2010 playing at Bass Camp, Tetris and Camp ?. All the while keeping his own home camp sated with brilliant beats from sunrise to sunset to sunrise, and then some.
Pressha has played along side Donald Glaude, Propa Tingz, Mochipet, Ana Sia, 12th Planet, Ill-Gates, Nit Grit, NastyNasty, Stanton Warriors, Glitch Mob, Simply Jeff, Keith McKenzie, Adam F, Bachelors of Science, Borgore, Reid Speed, Skrillex, Dieselboy, Bare and more. As a regular feature at Seattle’s Decibel Festival, this local favorite has been on the bill with Caspa, N-Type, Mimosa, Heyoka, an-ten-nae, Mike Slott, Megasoid, Mala and Mary Anne Hobbs. With several bookings a week, a full-time school schedule, and bookings with all of dubstep and glitch's heavy hitters, Pressha is a busy man. His mixes are a world-renowned and each one takes you on a unique journey through soundscapes of new and exciting territory. I suggest downloading a few today.

As one of the pioneers of the un-named, bass-heavy genre in the Seattle community, Pressha will most definitely continue to lay new twists to whatever sound he is playing at the moment, and we will no doubt continue to dance.
