Gay City Arts Season One: UpClosePersonal presents Dani Tirrell’s “The Blood” and “pot roast, aprons and June Cleaver” - two works for dance theater exploring love, hate, and spirituality in the midst of discovering and maintaining one's identity.
Dani Tirrell’s The Blood is a dance theater piece that deals with one man’s journey to find peace with God and come to terms with his sexuality while serving “the black church.” After being oppressed by scriptures and sermons, he finds restoration in God in order to love himself completely.

pot roast, aprons and June Cleaver explores the dreams and hopes of a Trans-identified person and their relationship to love and marriage.
