This event has passed.

Mentor Mornings was created to give inventors, creators and entrepreneurs a place to have a conversation about issues of interest to the maker community. The format encourages questions and discussion around a pre-established subject. The goal is to gain new insights and understanding through the kind of collaboration that a conversation amongst cohorts encourages.

Subjects

Find Your PassionWhat if you don’t know what to pursue with your entrepreneur drive. Well Warren Berger in his new book, A More Beautiful Question addresses this issue with eight questions designed to help us find our way when we’ve lost it. This Mentor Morning we’ll consider and try out these questions on ourselves and each other. Join us, and maybe we’ll find some answers.

NegotiationsThis morning we’ll discuss all aspects of negotiations from how childhood effects our ability to bargain to doing deals in the boardroom. Topics covered will include: separating issues from interests, changing the context and how to turn a bargaining session into a planning session.

Managing talentKnowing what people need, providing positive and negative feedback in the moment. Building a group. Matching skills and temperaments.Guests could include mental health professionals, organizational dynamics experts, and successful managers.

Brands are not dead yet, but… It’s not about marketing, advertising, positioning, B2B, B2C, consumers and consumption anymore. We all talk back and we’re looking for people and organizations that treat us like individuals. So the question is: how to build your offer so the people who need you most get what they need, and you do too. Guest speakers could include writers and thinkers who are showing us the way forward in this new environment.

Helping others succeedThe future is all about helping others. Organizations and individuals who have products and services that truly help are showing us what tomorrow could look like.

It's free-we hope you can join us!
