The Dutchess & the Duke consists of Jesse Lortz and Kimberly Morrison, who have been involved in a bevy of West coast punk bands over the last decade or so (including the Fall-Outs, the Intelligence, Fe Fi Fo Fums, the Sultanas, and the Flying Dutchmen, to name a few). Despite this, the Dutchess & the Duke is their vessel to make sparse and direct music as a two-piece, with Lortz tackling all of the songwriting and arrangements. This is a project with harmonies in place of shouting and acoustic solos in place of fuzzy riffs; something born of the 60’s and materializing just now. The Dutchess & the Duke’s acclaimed debut, She’s the Dutchess, He’s the Duke, was released in 2008, and their sophomore release, Sunset / Sunrise, followed in 2009.

There is one demo CD that was self-recorded but probably not distributed except to friends.
