Elevator.4:: Je Suis Le Petit Chevalier // Total Life // RM Francis

Fri, Jul 25, 2014 at 9pm

This event has passed.

Elevator enters its fourth installment with an excursion into waters both international and domestic. Our artists this month have returned from the edge of a millennial musical void, having gazed sufficiently, in order to tell us of the riches still within reach.

JE SUIS LE PETIT CHEVALIER (France)
Felicia Atkinson is Parisian by birth but finds her current home in the Alps. She has made a firm impression on the international scene with releases on her own lovingly curated Shelter Press and the American artery of NNA Tapes. Atkinson’s approach is one that confronts while remaining detached, aware of the impossibility to communicate while making constant, valiant attempts to connect. She joins us at the tail end of her Canadian tour with Sun Araw.

Total Life (OLY)
As one third of New York cosmonauts Growing, Kevin Doria demonstrated that his attention to drift was as keen as any on the modern scene. However, it was not until his relocation to Olympia and resuscitation of dormant solo project Total Life that listeners became aware of Doria’s drone mastery. Both Bender/Drifter (Debacle Records) and Radiator (Important Records) oscillate to the secret rhythm of burning embers, revealing a physical intensity that is only paralleled by his scathing live shows.

RM Francis (SEA)
Seattle based artist RM Francis creates static driven narratives that convey confusion and restlessness. Having recently released on Jeff Witscher's Agents of Chaos, RM Francis' unique approach to digital synthesis is an asset to Seattle's experimental music coterie.
