9e2 Evening 1: Opening Night!

Admission to our 9e2 opening night party!  Get the first peek at all the 9e2 installations, with drinks, DJs and dancing, alongside featured performances:

Mary Sherman: Eri After Dark
A performative gift inspired by Haruki Murakami's novel of the same name. Features sound composed by Benoit Granier.

A preview of Dayna Hanson’s 28 Problems
Based on a discarded sheet of hand-written calculus problems, 28 Problems uses robotics and animated GIFs to transcode found content from one language – mathematics, into another language - dance. Performed by Hanson in collaboration with beloved New York-based experimental theater actor Jim Fletcher (The Evening, Gatz, Devotion); also featuring Madison Haines and Julia Sloane. 

Coleman Pester & //Tectonic Marrow Society: PYLON II
A dance performance that incorporates live surveillance feeds to explore questions of observation and self.

The opening night party is also the debut of Ginny Ruffner & Grant Kirkpatrick's installation, Poetic Hybrids, a series of holographic, augmented reality sculptures that are activated by viewer input. Poetic Hybrids will be activated during the opening and closing night parties only.

Performances will begin around 8 pm. Doors at 7.
