Exciting original Brazilian jazz from Jovino Santos Neto, Chris Stover, and Ben Thomas, plus some of Chris Stover's new recompositions of the music of Caetano Veloso.
Chris Stover is back in Seattle for a week, and fresh from a tour in Brazil where he played with some of the most dynamic young musicians on the SÃo Paulo and Rio jazz scenes. This is the premiere performance of a lineup that has been in the making for years, finally coming to fruition! Chris, Jovino, and Ben are in their third year of co-teaching an intensive workshop on the music of Brazil, Cuba, and Argentina at Cornish College of the Arts, and have developed a deep musical affinity through this and their years of playing together in a wide variety of musical contexts.
