The Frode Gjerstad Trio features:

Paal and Frode’s musicianship grows out of a long friendship; both grew up in the same
town and have played together since their teens.
The first recordings of the new trio “MIR” (recorded live from
Cafe MIR in Oslo) and ”East of West” were recorded in the spring 2011.
A recording that took place in Chicago during August
2011 will be out soon.
Frode Gjerstad first became known to an
international audience through his work
with John Stevens and Johnny Dyani.
Since then he has recorded with Borah
Bergman, Bobby Bradford, William
Parker, Hamid Drake, Brotzmann etc

Paal Nilssen has played with musicians including Brotzmann, Mats
Gustavsson, Ken Vandermark, Evan
Parker, Pat Metheny and Joe McPhee.

The Royal Room is All Ages until 10 pm.
