Seattle Deaf Film Festival 2024
Back for the 7th time, Seattle Deaf Film Festival will be at the Northwest Film Forum in person from April 5-7, 2024. We will stream amazing films online from April 8-22, 2024 through Eventive. We are excited to spotlight 44 amazing films from 11 countries in sign language with English subtitles!
We offer three types of experiences: in person, hybrid, and virtual. For this ticketing platform, we are offering in person and hybrid passes / tickets. There are 9 programs in the festival. Each program will be apx 1.5 hours long. Each program may have one film or more films as a bundle. Please look at the program options below!
- IN PERSON
- A festival pass will give you access to view all films during the weekend (April 5-7, 2024).
- An individual ticket will grant you to a specific program during the festival weekend.
- A Day pass will grant you a day full of films either Saturday or Sunday.
- HYBRID
- A Hybrid festival pass will grant you both in person (April 5-7, 2024) and streaming (April 8-22, 2024) experiences.

RADICAL HOSPITIALITY
We are using a different ticketing approach this year. We are using Radical Hospitality Ticket Program, inspired by Sound Theatre Company and other organizations to make our event more inclusive and welcome for all.
There are no assigned seatings at any screenings at the Seattle Deaf Film Festival. We will prioritize seating for disabled community members.
COVID-19 SAFETY POLICY
To ensure a successful and healthy experience for all, Deaf Spotlight has a request for audiences like you: when attending a screening at SDFF 2024, please wear a mask over your nose and mouth except when eating or drinking. We ask that all audience members be respectful of this decision.
Deaf Spotlight reserves the right to require health and safety protocols for all screenings.
If you feel sick, have any of the following symptoms, or if you have tested positive for COVID-19, we request that you do not attend any performances in person:
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath
- Trouble breathing
- Fever or chills
- Loss of smell or taste
If you are unable to attend due to COVID-19, we will refund you your ticket(s). Please email sdff@deafspotlight.org to request a refund.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE FESTIVAL?
- The Seattle Deaf Film Festival will be at Northwest Film Forum (1515 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122)
- If you have purchased your pass or ticket in advance, please go to the WILL CALL booth in the lobby area to check in on the day of.
- We will sell in person passes and tickets at the door.
- Please show up a bit earlier due to parking.
- The theaters will be open half hour before the screen time.
- Please mask up.
- No filming/photography during screenings
- The film screenings will start on time. No late admissions.
Deaf Spotlight inspires and showcases Deaf Culture and Sign Languages through the arts.
Deaf Spotlight is a nationally recognized leader in Deaf arts. We emerged from the first Seattle Deaf Film Festival in 2012. Our programming has since expanded to include theater productions / festivals, curated visual art exhibitions, and workshops for Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled and Hard of Hearing artists.
