Zony Mash made their debut in late 1995 as the unofficial house band at the OK Hotel in Seattle, where the band developed their sounds with months of weekly gigs. In Zony Mash you’ll hear a wide variety of influences, including sixties-style psychedelic rock, blues, funk, New Orleans and definitely some sounds that could only be described as being from outer space.

From Wayne Horvitz about the Final Concerts: In 2004 I decided to stop doing Zony Mash as a touring band and we did some farewell shows.
At the time I had determined that I wanted to do the occasional Zony Mash plus Horns project, a configuration that I felt hadn't really blossomed into its full potential.
So we did a west coast tour and a European tour and that was fantastic. When the Royal Room opened, having a club right near by with my own Hammond B-3 took away a lot of the impediments, so we did some more shows with horns, including a 4 night residency, resulting in a double CD. Over time we started doing the quartet again as well, usually around Christmas when guitarist Tim Young was home for the holidays.
Now I am determined to bring it all to a close. Its been a quarter of a century, and we've had a great run. My focus is on acoustic music primarily, composing, conduction and improvisation. and above al the piano - frankly I rarely play the B-3 Organ. So we say farewell, and my gratitude to the band, including the late, great Fred Chalenor knows no bounds.
Thank you to musicians and fans alike.
