The Erotic Movement Lab
Sat, May 3 at 11am
- 18+
In the Erotic Movement Lab at SEAF, we believe that people shouldn't just view erotic art, they should bear witness to themselves AS erotic art. We believe in giving you the space to experiment, play, and explore the canvas that is your body. Join us for two days of workshops where YOU become the art, using sensual movement and dance as your medium. EVERYONE is welcome—- no matter your experience level, gender, body type, etc. This event listing includes Saturday workshops only—- check out our Sunday offerings here.
This year, our amazing instructors will guide you into movement-based exploration of what it means to view yourself as erotic art through the lens of different identities, archetypes, or even the celebration of a specific part of your body. And back by popular demand, we'll have multiple lap-dance and partner-focused workshops. As each workshop is unique, we encourage exploration. Our multi-workshop pass allows you to select ANY 4 Erotic Movement Lab workshops of your choosing; you can even mix Saturday and Sunday workshops! Single workshop passes are also available.
The Erotic Movement Lab at SEAF workshops are curated as an opportunity for attendees to experiment and experience sensual movement and body play, deepening your understanding and appreciation of the eroticism of you, exactly as you are. We are passionate about providing a safe, consent-oriented, and exciting experience.
Take advantage of our multi-pass deal, or grab a single workshop pass today! See you there.
Saturday Workshop Descriptions:
Workshop 1: The Body as Fine Art (Jeni, 11a - 12p)
How can you interpret the painter's brush stroke, the sculpting of clay into a beautiful form, or the spoken word through movement? In this all-level, freestyle workshop, participants will explore their bodies and movement through prompts drawn from multiple artistic disciplines. We'll embody these artistic disciplines with prompts and exercises that encourage integration and curiosity. Knee pads and socks recommended; a very limited selection of extra knee pads will be available to borrow.
Workshop 2: Fcking Filthy Lap Dance (Jordan, 12:15p - 1:15p)
Fcking Filthy Lap Dance explores the dirty, dirty, dirty side of lap dancing. Lots of in-your-face fun in this class! All levels of dance and movement backgrounds are welcome from advanced to no experience at all. After a consent conversation with your partner, participants will learn a short choreography they can take with them or use individual moves in whatever order makes you feel good. Lap dance pairs will have the option of only one person learning the moves, or to switch and allow both participants to learn. A note on clothing: whatever makes you feel filthy! If wanting to incorporate stripping, please bring a top and bottom layer to remove; genitalia and nipples must be covered (applicable to all genders).
Workshop 3: Snake Charmer: The Art of Seductive Dance (Jeni, 2:15p-3:15p)
Want to hypnotize your lover (and yourself!) with luscious rolls and slinky undulations? In this all-level workshop, we'll utilize Belly dance techniques and exercises to explore slinky, sensual movement. We will focus on specific movements in multiple positions and expressive options, blending technique and personal erotic style to captivate and entice your audience, whether with a partner(s) or just for you! Knee pads and socks recommended; a very limited selection of extra knee pads will be available to borrow.
Workshop 4: Watch Your Dance with Love (Eve, 3:30-4:30p)
Stop being critical of yourself while you watch yourself dance! Let go of unrealistic expectations, identify and release conditioned responses, and learn how to see the ART you create when you move. You will learn to cultivate love for your dance by being guided through exercises to see your dance with curiosity, compassion, and awe. Let me empower you to discover joy and reverence in your craft! We will spend the first part of class filming your dance in a dynamic way, we will watch our videos back, exploring our conditioned responses. We will build skills to help you view your dance with a loving gaze. Wear something you feel REALLY good in, a charged device to record your dance with, something to notes on.
