One of Sam Shepard's final plays, HEARTLESS places us in the midst of a peculiar family dynamic, alongside the hapless middle-aged Roscoe, as he navigates through the lives of the the Murphy women in a house overlooking the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles— a house filled with secrets, sadness, and haunted women who cannot leave themselves or anyone else in peace.
